Single women own more homes than single men

According to various studies and reports, there is evidence to suggest that single women own more homes than single men in the United States.

For example, a report by the National Association of Realtors in 2019 found that single women accounted for 18% of all homebuyers in the U.S., compared to just 9% for single men. Similarly, a study by the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University found that single women are more likely to own homes than single men, with 32% of single women owning homes compared to 25% of single men.

Several factors may contribute to this trend. For example, women may be more likely to prioritize homeownership as a long-term investment strategy or maybe more financially responsible and better at budgeting. Additionally, women may be more likely to seek out homeownership as a means of financial security and stability.

It is worth noting, however, that the trend towards women owning more homes than men is relatively recent and may reflect broader shifts in gender roles and expectations around homeownership and financial responsibility.
